These Champions have consistently exhibited the highest levels of excellence in channel and technology capability over the past 12 months, as evaluated by both channel partners and Canalys analysts.
Despite these achievements, it's essential for vendors to remain vigilant, particularly in these challenging times. The Leadership Matrix assesses key metrics such as ease of doing business, channel investment, and channel marketing capabilities. During economic downturns, some vendors may cut back on channel investments, including account managers and marketing development funds. However, maintaining higher levels of channel investment is often a wiser financial decision, enabling vendors to stand out, build stronger partnerships within their channel ecosystem, and positively impact their channel partners' ability to retain and acquire customers, a more challenging task during a crisis.

The Canalys managed BDR Leadership Matrix defines backup and disaster recovery (BDR) as technology (hardware or software) that creates exact data copies across one or multiple platforms and/or applications for restoration purposes in the event of loss, theft, or encryption. This matrix focuses on vendors active in the MSP channel, with minimum qualification criteria including at least US$100 million in annual BDR revenue, sales to MSPs, and 50% of revenue coming from the channel.
